How to Rotate a PDF and Save It Permanently
Few things are more annoying than opening a PDF only to find a page lying on its side. Usually it is a scan that went in the wrong way. The fix is quick — but there is an important difference between viewing a page rotated and saving that rotation so it sticks for everyone.
Viewing vs. saving rotation
Most PDF readers let you rotate the view, but that change is temporary: it lasts only for your current session and does nothing for the next person who opens the file. To fix the orientation for good, you need to rotate the pages and save the result back into the document.
Common reasons pages end up sideways
- Scanned documents fed into the scanner in the wrong orientation.
- Photographed pages captured in landscape.
- Mixed-source merges, where one combined file contains pages from different origins.
How to rotate and save
- Open the Rotate PDF tool and upload your document.
- Rotate individual pages or the whole document 90, 180, or 270 degrees.
- Click Process and download the corrected file — the rotation is now baked in.
Cleaning up further
